This 3 day Gorilla trekking safari takes you into the Bwindi Forest National Park in search of Mountain Gorillas in their natural habitat.
This is a 3 day and 2 night trip to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest to trek Mountain Gorillas
Itineraries
Day 1
Arrival and Travel
Arrive Entebbe (early), pick up and depart for Bwindi National Park.
We recommend that your flight is an early arrival (not past 10:00am) in Uganda. Your safari will start from Entebbe International Airport where the assigned professional tour driver and guide will receive you and then depart for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Bwindi is a big habitat for mountain Gorillas in Uganda harboring over 300 of them (which is almost half of the world’s gorilla population).
The drive will take you to southwest Uganda by road, cross the equator mark then to Mbarara city for Lunch and through the hilly terrain of western Uganda to Bwindi. You will arrive, check in to your accommodation and relax as you prepare for the Bwindi Gorilla Trekking experience the next day.
Accommodation: (Broadbill Forest Camp-Budget Level) | Meals: Lunch, Dinner | Drive Time: Approx. 9 hours.
Day 2
Gorilla Trekking
Gorilla trekking in Uganda’s famous Bwindi Forest and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi.
Have breakfast and move to the rangers’ post. You will receive a briefing from a ranger/guide on the dos and don’ts during trekking. Thereafter, you will enter the Bwindi Forest for your adventure. The beauty of this rain forest is spectacular! The area offers dramatic steeply forested landscapes and is incredibly dense but crisscrossed by numerous animal trails allowing access to tourists. The time taken and the terrain vary with the movements of these great primates. Once you have located a Gorilla group, you will be allowed an hour in their presence. The thrill of spending time observing these gentle but endangered giants is unforgettable. Return to the accommodation, check out and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi. Lake Bunyonyi is framed by lush, green-terraced hills that reach a height of 2,200 – 2,478mt but it’s the 29 islands of various shapes and sizes scattered across the water that make it most magical — you could admire them all day.
Accommodation: (Lake Bunyonyi Eco Resort-Budget Level) | Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner | Drive Time: Approx. 2-3 hours.
Day 3
Departure and Travel
Depart Lake Bunyonyi and return to Entebbe Airport to catch your flight.
You will have a relaxed breakfast with a spectacular view of the Bunyonyi little islands right in front of you. Thereafter, you will hit the road for the return to Entebbe arriving in the late afternoon/evening for your flight out (recommended for 18:00hrs or later). We hope you enjoy your 3 day Gorilla trekking Uganda experience… it will be one to remember!
Accommodation: Recommended on request (not included in trip cost) | Meals: Breakfast, Lunch | Drive Time: Approx. 8 hours.

Kakati …
the time I was living in Uganda, about 25 years ago, Gorilla trekking was still young.
When I am watching these little films these days on instagram I feel very sorry for them, how their life is disturbed, which is well seen in their behaviour.
Those other days we were moving in very little groups, never more than 5 persons, the rangers included, never getting too close, never disturbing their lives.
Banange musaasire!

Nikde celková cena. Ubytování není v ceně ! Lepší je tam jet a zaplatit si průvodce a ubytovaní na vlastní pěst. Tato nabídka je pouze lákadlo pro neznalé.

After hesitating and rethinking this tour, I have no regrets. The brochure says that it is a budget tour, but I found it far from that.
Transport was comfortable and our Trek driver / guide (Frank) was very professional and helpful. The accommodation and service at both venues was far from budget.
The Trek in and out is hard going (a jungle forrest it is). The Tracker and the Forrest guides are professional and interact with tourists (especially Arthur the lead man).
We didn’t get a cuddle from the young Gorillas (as seen in some posts), but to be within a few meters of a Silverback is an experience that cannot be explained in simple words.
Highly recommended, even if it is not in your bucket list!
