Itineraries

Day 1

Arrival and Travel to Lake Mburo NP

Arrive Entebbe Airport (before 1400hrs). Transfer to Lake Mburo NP.
We hope your flight is scheduled for an early (before 14:00) landing at Entebbe Airport. Upon arrival, you will be received by the assigned English-speaking Professional Tour Driver/Guide who will welcome you into the Pearl of Africa. Thereafter, you will hit the road for a transfer to Lake Mburo National Park. Depending on your arrival time, you will reach Mburo between the early afternoon hours and late evening hours. #Optional (extra cost): Just in case you have arrived early enough and are interested, you may go out for a breathtaking night game drive.

Accommodation: (Eagles’ Nest-Budget Level) | Meals: Dinner | Drive time: Approx. 4 hours.

Day 2

Drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

Enjoy your breakfast as early as possible then proceed for an exciting morning game drive in the park. Expect to see the gigantic Eland Antelope, Zebra in big numbers, Topi, Impalas, Buffaloes and other savannah animals. Alternatively, you may choose the morning bush/park walk (at extra cost USD 30 pp) in the presence of an armed ranger-guide. You will return to your accommodation then check out and proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable NP.

Bwindi has a big habitat for Mountain Gorillas in Uganda (harboring over 300 Mountain Gorillas – roughly half of the world’s population), including several habituated groups, which can be trekked. With a strenuous day ahead, you will check in your accommodation and relax as you prepare for the Bwindi Gorilla Trekking experience the next morning.

Accommodation: (Broadbill Forest Camp-Budget Level) | Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner | Drive time: Approx. 4-5 hours.

Day 3

Gorilla Trekking

Gorilla trekking Bwindi Forest and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi for relaxation.
Have breakfast and move to the rangers’ post. You will receive some briefing (from a ranger guide) on the dos and don’ts during trekking. Thereafter, you will enter the Bwindi Forest for your adventure. The beauty of this rain forest is spectacular! The area offers dramatic steeply forested landscape and is incredibly dense but crisscrossed by numerous animal trails allowing access to tourists. The time taken and the terrain vary with the movements of these great primates.

Once you have located a gorilla group, you will be allowed an hour in their presence. The thrill of spending time observing these gentle but endangered giants is unforgettable. Return to the accommodation, check out and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi. Lake Bunyonyi is framed by lush, green-terraced hills that reach a height of 2,200 – 2,478mt but it’s the 29 islands of various shapes and sizes scattered across the water that make it most magical — you could admire them all day.

Accommodation: (Lake Bunyonyi Eco Resort-Budget Level) | Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner | Drive Time: Approx. 2-3 hours.

Day 4

Departure and Travel

Depart Bunyonyi and return to Entebbe to catch flight out (18:00 onward).
You will have a relaxed breakfast with spectacular views of the Bunyonyi little islands just right in front of you. Thereafter, you will hit the road for the return to Entebbe (arriving in the late afternoon/evening) for your flight out. Thank you for choosing and travelling with us (Home to Africa). #Optional (extra cost): If having a late night flight, you may consider a canoe trek on Bunyonyi before departing for Entebbe.
